A well-known and one of the leading Chinese smartphone brands “Oppo” has announced that it’s going to hold an event on August 23 in Shanghai China to release its much-anticipated, latest and greatest flagship smartphones named Oppo R17 and R17 Pro. The announcement was made just a few moments back on the official Weibo account of Oppo.
As we’ve mentioned in our Oppo R17 review, it’ll be backed by a water-drop like Notch and will house an on-screen fingerprint scanner. Now Oppo has ended the wait by announcing price as well as the release date of these 2 beasts.
Oppo R17 Price
Oppo has now updated its official listing on its official website alongside pricing which will be available on Opposhop.cn and will carry a pricing of CNY 3499 which after conversion comes to around $509.
This price tag is the same on major Chinese retailers such as Suning, Tmall, JD.com and few others. All these merchants have Oppo R17 available for pre-order, waiting for the actual launch. However, Oppo’s fans will be able to get their hands on one after August 30 officially.
Oppo R17 Specs
Talking about Oppo R17 specifications, it’s backed by top-rated and fully-baked features such as 6.4-inches AMOLED panel with Oppo’s water-drop Notch design which we have also seen in Oppo’s F9. The display is being supported by Full HD+ resolution and comes with 91.5% screen-to-body ratio – a little below compared to Oppo Find X (93.8% screen-to-body ratio). It also comprises all-glass design which again sounds similar to Find X.
Moreover, it’s armed with Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 Chipset which is partnered with a whopping 8GB of RAM. To give users enough storage space, it brings a massive 128GB of onboard memory that can be expanded further via microSD card slot. Though it’s backed by 3500mAh battery but it’s being supported by VOOC Fast Charging which has already proved its worth in the world of smartphone.
As far as cameras are concerned, Oppo R17 is equipped with dual 16MP + 5MP rear sensors and 25MP has covered its front quite well. It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with an edge of the Oppo’s custom skin, ColorOS 5.2.
