2019 is going to get a tag “A Year of Foldable Smartphones” as so many brands such as Samsung, Huawei and Oppo are expected to launch their first foldable smartphone. The Chinese smartphone brand “Oppo” already patented a few foldable handsets back in 2018. Finally, Oppo got approval for a foldable smartphone.
Oppo has patented yet another foldable smartphone which seems to house pop-up cameras. Just a few days back, an Oppo patent was published on WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization). The patent indicates a foldable smartphone having slim bezels than other handsets seen in the earlier trademark from a brand.

The smartphone seems to come with a massive screen which would be folded through the hinge in the middle. Very much like to the recently-unveiled Royole FlexPie – Oppo handset appears to be able to be folded outwards, amazing?

The patent further reveals that it’ll have a pop-up module on top of the left side which has 3 sensors. One of them could be a selfie camera whereas the other two are expected to be an LED Flash Unit and a depth-of-field sensor. The handset could come with 3D Face Unlock Technology.

The official Oppo Foldable Smartphone release date doesn’t exist. However, Oppo has scheduled an event on February 23rd at MWC 2019 where it could show off its first foldable smartphone. Stay connected as we will update the story as soon as Oppo announces anything officially.
