To give a rigid competition to Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 Chipset, HiSilicon (Huawei’s Chipset Division) is working on Kirin 980. This Chipset will be added in a Huawei’s device “Mate 20” which has already been spotted on Geekbench. The handset is running Android 9 with an 8 core processor and a whopping 6GB of RAM.
Earlier leaks unveil that Kirin 980 Chipset will be built using 7-nanometer FinFET Technology by TSMC. Huawei has added AI Chip Technology, making NPU smoother and can easily bring around 5 Trillion calculations per watt.
Moreover, so many online sources are suggesting that HiSilicon has added a super-powerful GPU unit in Kirin 980. This latest GPU is 1.5 times faster as compared to Adreno 630 and houses Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform. And as mentioned above, Huawei first smartphone in which we’ll see Kirin 980 is “Mate 20” and “Mate 20 Pro”.
Score on Geekbench and AnTuTu
This Huawei’s latest HiSilicon Kirin 980 Chipset handled to achieve a single-core result of 3390 and multi-core score of 10318. This multi-core score gives a tough competition to all other Android phones but stops shy of Apple’s iPhone Xs (11472).
Geekbench aside for a short while, AnTuTu has pretty much similar results from Kirin 980. And once again, it beats its Android rivals so easily.
The Huawei Mate 20 release date is October 16. And chances are Huawei will launch Mate 20 Porsche Design as well.
