Apple iPhone SE 2 Release Date:
The Apple iPhone SE 2 release date is still very much up in the air. But according to iPhone SE 2 rumors, when an iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X out of the way, the coast is almost clear for the compact handset iPhone SE 2. However, we are hopeful to see an announcement sometime in 2018, while others adding that the iPhone SE 2 will enter mass production in the second quarter of 2018.
The Apple iPhone SE 2 release date in Australia is expected in May or June, claimed by a great analyst Karl Ackerman. A bunch of other rumors suggesting a middle of the year launch, so no guarantee was made.
“We think that Apple has planned a second generation of the iPhone SE model. At this point, there hasn’t been a firm commitment to launch the device” Said by Karl Ackerman.
Moreover, Ming-Chi (analyst) doesn’t believe Apple has the capacity to launch an iPhone SE 2. He said,
“With three new models in the pipeline for the second half of 2018, we believe Apple may have used up its development resources”.
Apple iPhone SE 2 Prices:
Apple iPhone SE 2 price in Australia will be around AU$590, whereas £340 in the UK and $450 in the US although this is just a rumor we’ve heard. Apple iPhone SE 2 will remain Apple’s most affordable iPhone when it comes to the prices – in case if it shows up.
Let’s go a little bit back in the past, the iPhone SE started at $399/£349/AU$549 for a 16GB onboard variant. And now it starts at $349/£349/AU$549 for a 32GB onboard variant. Why is it so? It’s just because of the 16GB variant has been discontinued and the price dropped due to its aging entrails.
Apple iPhone SE 2 Design & Display:
Recently a video about the iPhone SE 2’s design was posted on a social network Weibo. It’s showing a handset that’s rented seriously from the design cues of the iPhone X, including the removal of a home button, curved edges as well as a small X-style notch on the top of the screen.
Also, we’ve seen in a video that a small camera will bump on the rear of the phone containing a dual camera configuration. However, we think it’s most likely that Apple will keep things simple with the possible addition of a glass rear and wireless charging as on the iPhone 8, 8 Plus and the X.
As far as the display is concerned, rumors are suggesting that the iPhone SE will retain its current, extremely popular, smaller screen size of 4-inches. Again we haven’t much information regarding Apple iPhone SE 2 display, but we could expect a small screen, probably around 4.5-inches. It’s a little smaller than the 4.7-inches iPhone 8 display even way smaller than the iPhone X’s 5.8-inches OLED panel.
Apple iPhone SE 2 Features – Quick Review:
What We Want to See?
Here is a wish list which is filled with features we are expecting to see in iPhone SE 2. Let’s have a look.
A Re-energized Design
Without a doubt, iPhone SE design was an exquisite thanks to iPhone 5 design. All in all, it’s a winning design, but it was first debuted on the iPhone 4. However, the design ideas need to be left to the side now with something extremely different especially when hunting toward the release of the iPhone SE 2.
The iPhone SE is absolutely high on the charts when it comes to the battery power that keeps us online throughout a day. We haven’t even heard any complaint regarding SE’s battery performance, but it can get better, isn’t it? We would like to see Apple pushing few boundaries with its Apple SE 2 in terms of power.
A Headphone Jack
A predecessor Apple SE had a headphone jack and it would be great if Apple kept things in place for the iPhone SE 2. Normally, Apple doesn’t mess with the design, but still there are chances to see it removed. However, rumours are suggesting that the iPhone SE 2 will come with a new look which ultimately indicates that the 3.5mm headphone jack doesn’t get left on the cutting room floor.
The new iPhone SE 2 is expected to offer wireless charging thanks to glass back rumor. Tekz24 got a tip from a “very authentic source” and according to that, iPhone SE 2 will have a glass back panel which will obviously support wireless charging.
3D touchscreen technology has been around for a while by Apple and it would be great to see if Apple will add it to the SE 2. Numerous sources have already rumored that this will not be the case and Ming-Chi (analyst) has given thumbs down too.
Based on a Tekz24 report, Apple iPhone SE 2 will be equipped with an A10 fusion chip (as seen in the iPhone 7). The Chinese report, on the other hand, suggests that the new iPhone SE 2 will use a newer A10 Fusion chip, instead of an A9 in the current model. It will sport a 2GB of RAM and 32/128GB onboard memory.
We would see a 7MP FaceTime camera along with Retina Flash replace the 5MP FaceTime camera in the current model. Furthermore, it’s expected to keep dozens of the features of the current iPhone SE such as:
12MP Camera: The iPhone SE is offering a 12MP rear sensor with a f/2.2 aperture. The iPhone 8 has a f/1.8 aperture.
No Bump: Lack of camera bump on the bigger model is the one key difference between SE and iPhone 8. With a bit of luck, the iPhone SE 2’s rear camera will also be flat.
2GB of RAM: The iPhone SE is loaded with 2GB of RAM and it’s unlikely that we’d see any more than that.
Storage: The iPhone SE 2 is expected to be arrived with 32GB or 128GB storage options.
The iPhone SE 2 will shine in terms of a battery as it’s expected to increase slightly from 1640mAh (iPhone SE) to 1750mAh. It might be necessary to power the slightly larger display if that happens.
We look forward to reading your comments if we’ve missed something you know about iPhone SE 2. Besides, as soon as we hear anything else, we’ll update this article.
